We're building a time machine.
We want to give your members back the hours wasted on cold approaches, endless scrolling, and networking noise. Our AI doesn’t farm clicks, run ads, or sell data.
Social Medium AI delivers serendipitous introductions and suggestions that keep communities private, engaged, and thriving.
No time wasted.

Our solution
Serendipity by design.
Social Medium AI is a relevance engine that matches useful connections when they need each other.
Private profiles: anonymous unless permissioned
Contextual matching: serendipity by design
Community-first: built for trusted networks
Visualisation: your network comes alive

Agentic Value = nⁿ
We are convinced that AI can power a quantum leap in human collaboration.
SocialMedium is a human AI platform designed to proactively discover and match common interests, capabilities, motivation, proximity, and assets.
Our mission is to help human communities to harness AI to improve network productivity to nⁿ
Why us
We’ve built networks by hand for 25 years: thousands of searches, founders, and leaders across 40+ cities. Now, we’re automating what we once did manually — using AI to accelerate trust and serendipity.
Founder
Jonathan Tanner
_edited.jpg)
Jon Tanner and his partners built MitchelLake’s global exec search practice from the ground up, brokering hires and investor-founder relationships across ASX giants, global tech firms, and early-stage rockets. That gave us early access to signal — not noise — and taught us how meaningful connections *really* get made: behind the scenes, with deep context and perfect timing.
Head of Product
Omid Pakseresht

Omid studied Mathematics at the University of Oxford (BSc) and brings deep expertise in product strategy, AI, and platform design. With a background in scaling digital products and communities, he leads SocialMedium’s product vision and development, ensuring the platform delivers intuitive and impactful networking experiences.
Head of Engineering & AI
Nima Pakseresht

Nima holds a PhD in Computer Science from the University of East Anglia and the John Innes Centre, where his research focused on mathematical modelling of biological systems, as well as an MSc in Bioinformatics from UEA. He leads SocialMedium’s technical architecture and engineering, building the infrastructure that enables secure, intelligent, and adaptive network matching.

How LinkedIn became the new Yellow Pages—and why that's a trillion-dollar opportunity
The Yellow Pages worked beautifully—until they didn't. Google Search was revolutionary—until it became an advertising billboard masquerading as an answer engine. And LinkedIn? Well, LinkedIn is completing its own magnificent self-immolation.
But here's what Rory Sutherland would call the "psycho-logic" of it: we're so busy staring at the trees, we've missed the forest entirely. The evolution from directories → search → social → agentic AI isn't just happening to networking. It's the very pattern that's been reshaping every information system for thirty years.

Innovation Doesn’t Live in Silos—It Emerges from the Collective Brain
This research from LSE explores how innovation arises not just from individual insight, but through the structure, diversity, and fidelity of human networks. Ideas evolve through serendipity, recombination, and incremental improvement—amplified by the right social architecture.
At SocialMedium, we see agentic AI not as the brain, but as the connective tissue that helps communities think better together.

From Listings to Agents: How AI is Redefining Networking Beyond Google and LinkedIn
-
In the 1990s, listings solved “where do I find this thing?” (think Yellow Pages, Craigslist).
-
In the 2000s, search solved “how do I navigate the infinite sprawl of the web?” (Google).
-
In the 2010s, social networks solved “how do I connect to people, ideas, and tribes?” (Facebook, LinkedIn).
Now in the 2020s, we’re at the next inflexion point: agentic AI. Large language models (LLMs) have quietly eroded the utility of traditional search.
So what's next for social networks?!
